Introduction: How we see others is a reflection of how we see ourselves. Today we want to learn how to properly see ourselves from God’s lenses. How we can behold the true image of God even in the life of others. This is important in measuring the strength of our character. We are not alone. Jesus left the earth to release His Spirit to us. He knew it would difficult for the disciples to keep up with their true identity. It is the same with us today. We have doubts about our true identity when we have no one to affirm it. It’s often hard to keep up with the teachings and instructions of our true identity. This church is designed to help our members to come to the understanding of their true identity in Christ. This is what Jesus did to the disciples in John 15. He taught them about the need to stick with Him. The need to not detach themselves from the only and True Source. We are going to see how we can do the same in this present world. How we can stay together as a family and as friends. Jesus called the disciples ‘friends’ because they’ve been with Him to the level of knowing Him enough to keep them safe. Let’s learn from the principles of Jesus Christ. 1. Genuine Friends don’t keep secrets. John 15:15c...“Instead, I have called you friend, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” You must make known the secret of Jesus Christ. You must live your life in a pattern that would help them see you as a true friend. We must live to that standard as a Church. We have to be sensitive to people’s needs. You must not keep secrets of God’s goodness away from them. It is our call. It is our responsibility. This would help us to start seeing ourselves as the true disciples and children of God. 2. You are chosen by God. A lot of people thought they chose God. I’m telling you the truth today. You’re chosen by God. God did the work. We should have this attitude in our service and commitment to Him. He chose us for a reason best known to him. He brings people to this Church for a reason best known to Him. We should not screw it up. Tell somebody, “Don’t screw it up.” God chose the disciples to bear fruit. We talked about it during our online Bible Study. You can listen to it on our website. One of God’s important reasons for creation is to reproduce His true nature. John 15:16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” That you may go. You can’t keep it to yourself. Share the joy of fellowship. Share the joy of your relationship with Jesus Christ? 3. Love is God’s commandment. You don’t have a preference about who to love and not love. Love is God’s ultimate commandment for Christians. It’s easy to stop loving because we’re hurting. I’m telling you the truth. You have no preference when it comes to loving others as Christ loved the world. He died for the whole world irrespective of the color of their skin, how well they are behaving, their marital or social status, age, gender, nationality. He died for all, once and for all. You have no option when it comes to loving people. Jesus said, “This is my command: Love each other.” Vs 17. Our message is love in this church. Nothing more, nothing else. There is no special group, no special people, or special seats. Everyone is special and amazing in God’s presence. In conclusion: Find someone that does not deserve your love this week and bless them. Treat them like a minister that they truly are. Believe me, you’re doing the work on an evangelist by so doing. God will help you in Jesus's name. 1 Corinthians 2:16 “For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” We have the mind of God. We need to take a bold step of faith in loving the undeserving.
