Psalms 90:12, NKJV; “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom”. We must learn to be mindful and be actively conscious of our seasons. In every season of our lives, there are lessons to learn, decisions to make in order to move from one season to the other, regrets, or unplanned events. We should move in/from our seasons with a grateful heart. Eagerly transition seasons-Phil. 3:13, NLT; “No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead”. https://www.bible.com/116/php.3.13.nlt There’s no point dwelling on regrets or mistakes of the past, let us learn from our mistakes and move forward so as to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. Transitioning seasons can be an evidence of soaring high or growth. Therefore, be happy in your season. Yes your low seasons can be some other person’s high and vice versa. You may think all hope is lost until you see someone going through worse situation but still grateful and happy in their seemingly pitiful season. Think about a situation where a person can only afford a one-bedroom apartment for his family, and another is homeless and has to live in his car without a home or family to call his own. Let’s analyze these two scenarios; - [x] First scenario - [ ] Has a roof over his head - [ ] Has a family - [ ] Has a privilege to give and receive love to and from his family - [ ] Can share whatever he can afford with his family no matter how small - [x] Second scenario - [ ] Has a lot of alone time to achieve and set goals without necessary distractions such as family - [ ] Has a roof over his head in form of a car - [ ] Has all his possessions in one space, there’s no need to keep searching and searching because some other person discarded something important unintentionally - [ ] No need to worry about home damage during natural disasters such as hurricanes, can park his car away from trees or potential damage sites - [ ] Can easily practice social distancing These are few optimistic ways to analyze both situations, you can add yours to the optimistic analysis. It takes zero effort to analyze the scenarios pessimistically. Keep in mind that I do not mean that the two people in both scenarios should not explore opportunities to improve their situations, they should absolutely seek better opportunities for a better lifestyle, what I’m saying is while they are at it, they can live happy and grateful lives, trusting God that soon the season will pass and it will only be a lovely story to tell. In the secular world, it has become a cliche that optimism is key, however, we must not get too used to just hearing it but acting on it deliberately. The Word of God is complete, we find a guideline on what our thoughts should be in Philippians 4:8, “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”. Never compare your season with another’s. 2 Cor. 10:12, God’s Word Translation; “Certainly, when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves to themselves, they show how foolish they are. We live in a time where everything left, right and center can cause one to compare with others, there’s social media pressure and all the likes. The Bible makes it clear that it is not right to do so. There was a time in my life I could sleep all I want but now I can’t do that without putting my baby or my family first and I’m really grateful for this, I’m saying enjoy your season. You may be single now wishing you’re married, stop wishing and maximize your season. Use your single season to set, strategize and achieve goals. Set goals to draw closer to God, practice hearing Gods voice. Once a season is past, it can’t be retrieved. I can’t emphasize this enough, ‘MAXIMIZE YOUR SEASON’.
