We can trust God enough to protect us in all areas of our lives whether endangered or not. The Bible says in Deuteronomy 33:27, ‘the Eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, and will say, Destroy!’. Often times we do not realize the depth of God’s love for us, He can protect us no matter the situation. We try to protect ourselves by seeking temporary or foolish ways to protect ourselves. When the Almighty God, creator of the universe protects us, we have nothing to worry about. It’s the COVID-19 pandemic season all over the world, and a lot of us are living in fear of now and the future. Some have money to buy what they need but no access to food, some have access to food but no money, or neither access to money or food. So we weigh every situation and just succumb to fear, worry and anxiety. Becoming a Mom is a new season of my life and the Holy Spirit has been using this season to teach me a lot of lessons. The Moro reflex is a response to an unpleasant stimulus which occurs in newborns up to around six months because they sense danger. The womb environment for the baby was compact and in a seemingly swaddled form which makes them feel safe. The Moro reflex is an advantage that can prevent fall because the baby can cling to the mother or nearest object for safety. However, there are times it can occur unnecessarily even when they’re safe on mother’s laps or anyone carrying them. This has happened a number of times since I had my baby, I pat and draw his hands closer to assure him of safety. Just as a mother protects her child, God protects His children even more. God wants to pat us on the back with His Word to reassure us of safety and protection. We may find ourselves in situations outside our comfort zone, it may seem like the whole world is crashing, but we should remind ourselves of God’s comfort. We can always find comfort and assurance of love in His Word. The Word of God can never be overrated, they are the words of the Father to His children, it will always be relevant. Recall Deuteronomy 33:27, we are always guided by His everlasting arms, the eternal God is our refuge. As a baby needs swaddling to feel protected so that the Moro reflex is suppressed, we should always swaddle ourselves with God’s Word to comfort us in good and bad times. Keep in mind that the Moro reflex should disappear at about six months, baby is now more cognitively developed and familiar with the world outside the womb, so also God wants us to grow daily to a level where we just trust Him to carry us, come rain, storm or shine. 2 Corinthians 3:18 NLT, emphasizes growing daily to become like the Father, it says ‘So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.’ This time and season, God is saying to us, don’t panic, I am with you. When the Moro reflex is absent in babies, it means that the nervous system is underdeveloped. It is in fact normal to feel anxious at this time or in a difficult season of our lives because we are humans, but we must intentionally seek comfort in Christ. It’s a scary world today with the current happenings, yet we will trust that His everlasting arms are carrying us. Habakkuk 3:17 NKJV, “Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls—” Habakkuk 3:18 NKJV, “Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” You will also need to take necessary precautions to protect yourself from this pandemic, remember wisdom is profitable to direct. However, block all sources of fear such as social media, stay updated with news but don’t feed or dwell on negativity, anxiety, or fear.

This is an excellent write-up! We are eternally secured in God's presence. God's presence is our comfort. The comfort that the world can not give. The comfort that is missing in this precious time. We are glad that in Him, no weapon formed against us shall prosper. His is our true assurance for tomorrow.
Thank you for encouraging us, dear.
